Tips to avoid Identity Theft for Seniors


Seniors are unfortunately primary targets for those who want to commit identity theft. Here are some tips to help avoid it from happening to you.

-Sign the back of credit cards immediately when you receive them

-Don't lend credit cards to anyone

-Cancel credit cards you no longer use

-Immediately report lost or stolen credit cards, as well as any discrepancies on credit card statements

-Never provide Social insurance numbers, or date of birth by phone

-Be cautious about mail or telephone solicitations offering instant prizes.. usually these are attempts to get your personal information
